Give students 3-5 minutes to brainstorm a list of activities that you can do with a child to teach them the alphabet. Have students write down their lists, and when time us up, share and compare lists to finalize the class’ ideas.

SNA’s Annual Nutrition Conference

Londa and I loved Vegas!

This year at the School Nutrition Association’s Annual National Conference (ANC) we met with industry partners to discuss the Extreme Cafeteria Makeover that’s currently underway. More updates will be available on the blog as Londa is heading down to film the progress of the renovation at Glennville-Emmons in Minnesota.

The exhibit hall was packed with attendees! Those who made it to our booth had the opportunity to see our new products – including Foodscapes Decals and bulletin board kits – and picked up a free breakfast poster and Foodscapes postcards.

Leaders Rise up in School Foodservice

Movers and shakers in the school foodservice industry are popping up all over the country as they implement clever initiatives that promote healthy eating. We came across this article by The Atlantic that features Baltimore’s public school foodservice director Tony Geraci, who has done amazing things for his district regarding vending machines and locally grown food. Jean Ronnei, foodservice director of St. Paul Public Schools and friend of LZE, was also mentioned in the article. Enjoy!
