Melanie is a leader in her profession. She was named as a finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2007. Melanie is actively involved with Educacion Popular en Salud (EPES), a non-profit organization that works for health education promotion in the inner cities of Santiago and Concepción, Chile. The U.S. supporting organization is: Action for Health in the Americas.
