Or want an opportunity to talk about food, nutrition and history at the Thanksgiving table? We have a fun Thanksgiving Quiz that we think will help. It’s good for all ages. It promotes healthy eating. It might be fun to give the students the quiz in class and then let them bring it home to share with their families at their Thanksgiving dinners.

You could use it at your own Thanksgiving feast as well to spur discussion at a quiet table or distract attention if the conversation with family gets heated. (Get the quiz and the answers.)

Have you had your flu shot?

Flu season is just around the corner, and we have a feeling it might get an early start on us this year. To celebrate National Flu Awareness Month, Learning ZoneXpress has reduced the price of our Flu Shot Stickers! We Challenge all 7th and 8th graders, individually or in groups, to “Stir Up Health” with MyPlate!

Teachers, Home Schools, Youth Leaders or Parents join Healthy Kids Challenge in its 10th year offering healthy cooking fun for 7th and 8th graders with the “Stirring Up HealthT” National Middle School Recipe Contest! Educational partners include Johnson & Wales University and Home Baking Association.

Kids learn basic food preparation and cooking skills they’ll use throughout life, with this hands-on experience. Engage the kids you know to create or modify a recipe to make it healthier, using USDA MyPlate guidelines.
